Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Bruce Engine ("Bruce", "the Service") — including bruceengine.run, the Bruce Desktop application, and the Bruce Agent — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Bruce is an execution runtime that enables AI assistants (such as Claude and ChatGPT) to perform tasks on your computer via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The Service consists of:

• —A cloud gateway that routes plans from AI assistants to your local agent
• —A local agent that executes plans on your machine
• —A web dashboard for managing devices, policies, and run history
• —Bruce Desktop, an optional Electron app for managing the agent

The Service is currently in early access / beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

4. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

• —All actions executed on your machine via Bruce, including those initiated by AI assistants
• —Configuring appropriate policies to limit what Bruce can access and do
• —Reviewing plans before approving them, especially high-risk ones
• —Keeping your API tokens and device credentials confidential
• —Ensuring your use of Bruce complies with applicable laws
• —Any consequences of granting AI assistants access to your system

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• ✕Violate any applicable law or regulation
• ✕Access, modify, or delete files or systems you do not own or have permission to use
• ✕Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the gateway, database, or other users' devices
• ✕Interfere with the availability or integrity of the Service
• ✕Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code
• ✕Resell, sublicense, or commercialize the Service without written permission

6. AI-Generated Plans

Bruce routes plans generated by third-party AI models (such as OpenAI's ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude). We do not control the content of AI-generated plans. You are responsible for reviewing and approving plans before execution. Bruce provides policy controls, risk levels, and confirmation prompts to help you do this — but these are tools, not guarantees.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRUCE ENGINE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF FILES, SYSTEM DAMAGE, OR LOST PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $10 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID ANYTHING).

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your devices and account. Upon termination, your data will be deleted per the schedule in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Bruce Engine operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
